You can travel the world and you won’t find a shoe store quite like Benge’s. We are unique to the shoe world, because so many stores want to be a niche retailer and offer a select group of brands that basically have the same appeal. We strive to offer a wide selection of brands that represent, not only that brand but their best styles. We also fit trial every shoe before we buy it. There are a lot of shoes that look good but don’t feel good. You won’t find many of those at Benge’s.

     We are a third generation shoe store. When you enter the store that longevity becomes more apparent, from the original tin ceiling, the original NCR cash register, to a Fluoroscope X Ray shoe fitting machine, an old antique button machine plus lots of old shoes and memorabilia that decorate the walls.. We have always carried great shoes, originally for the entire family but our current inventory is primarily devoted to ladies shoes, boots and sandals. You might say with us that comfort rules and it does. We have pioneered a lot of comfort lines like Birkenstock, Dansko and Wolky to name a few. We realized long ago that when you are spending all those hours on your feet if you want to continue to do so you’ve got to take care of them.

     Embracing the spirit of giving back, we know and appreciate the importance of the community we serve. Realizing the importance, our family has served on several boards, organizations and causes to make our city, county, state and world a better place to be. We also contribute and donate to several non-profits and community organizations. This year's list includes St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, Hospice and Hospice Care Center, Rose Hill, Habitat for Humanity, Family Health West, Community Hospital Foundation, Mesa State College Foundation, Catholic Outreach, Marillac Clinic, Salvation Army, Partners, Grand Jct. Lions Club, United Way of Mesa County, Mesa Land Trust, Museum of Western Colorado, Mesa Colorado Public Library, Botanical Gardens, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce, GJEP, Food Bank of the Rockies, Kids Voting, Grand Junction Symphony, Mesa State Speech and Debate, GJHS Community Bowl, GJ Academy of Dance, Grand Valley Youth Hockey, Girls on the Run, and Little Warriors Wrestling.
